Meetup 013: Duality and Mirrors.

Hello there!

Hope the week so far is treating you well. Well, we had a session on Duality and Mirrors last weekend. The session brought out such vibrant characteristics in the stories. The topic was vast for imagination and exploration and so the perspectives were vivid and variant.

Perception versus Reality deals with the surface distinctions between perception, which I define as opinions and judgments based on prior knowledge, and reality, which I define as that which is free from judgment and the inflictions of the personal. The main idea is that our writing this weekend should revolve around this theme of duality and contradiction.

The time spacing for the meetup and the turnout was perfect for 2 exercises in completion.

Exercise 1:

Write a descriptive piece on the concept of perception vs reality. The piece could involve anything from a monologue in front of a mirror or a talk with yourself from the future or past or an encounter with reality that shatters existing perceptions.

Exercise 2:

Write a descriptive piece on contrasting characteristics and duality. There is duality inherent in everything that bears life. Even to each of the five elements. Each element has benevolent, life-giving, nurturing forms, and also destructive forms.

The resulting stories brought out poignant, vibrant and vivid stories, write-ups and poems from the lovely, imaginative members.
